Editor's comment: It appears that air pollution in NCR has finally caught some national attention considering the reports that the Union Budget is committing up to INR1,000 cr of funds to resolve this cross-state issue. Whether the allotted funds would enable requisite coordination with the governments of Punjab and Haryana is another question altogether. Meanwhile, UDAN 2.0 culminated by grant of 325 routes, many in hilly and "priority" areas such as, Jammu and Kashmir to boost regional air connectivity of the country.

In US, two iconic companies demonstrated completely opposite trajectories with Ford Motors posting a 65% increase in annual profits, whereas ToysRUs feeling the heat of e-commerce and multi-retail players while it closes a 185 stores. Ford CEO in a bout of introspection asserted the need of the company to be more financially fit than before. ToysRUs on the other hand has suffered primarily as a function of being a single category retailor in an era when customers are vying for "the everything" store.
