Editor's Comment: Tata Sky launched its broadband service across 12 cities in India. This comes at a time when Jio, widely perceived as the disruptive new entrant in the space has started accepting registrations.


WhatsApp CEO, Chris Daniels meets Minister of Law and Justice and Electronics & IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad to discuss the following requirements i) presence of a governance officer in India. ii) compliance with Indian laws and iii) creation of a corporate entity located in India. 


As per reports, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ford  are discussing an alliance as part of which Ford will transfer its India business to a proposed joint venture between both the companies, wherein Ford is likely to hold 49% stake and Mahindra & Mahindra is likely to hold 51% stake.


Flipkart has confirmed that it has acquired AI-led speech recognition startup to enhance conversational shopping experience for users. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.


JP Morgan is expected to unveil an investing app designed for retail investors. The app will give users the ability to execute free or discounted trades, a sophisticated portfolio-building tool and free access to the bank's equity research. Anyone who downloads J.P. Morgan's mobile banking app or uses its website is expected to get at least 100 free trades in the first year. 


US is moving closer to levying tariffs on $200bn of Chinese imports despite the launch of fresh round of talks to scrap tariffs.  Tariffs under consideration include either 10% or 25% on a number of consumer goods, including furniture, luggage and computer parts .
