Editor's comment: India’s wholesale inflation eases to 6-month low of 2.84% in January vs. previous year (reached an eight-month high of 3.93% in November 201), on back of subdued rise in food and fuel prices.


RBI directs PNB to pay the entire INR11,300 cr owed to counterparty banks in the alleged fraud involving jeweller Nirav Modi. If PNB does not pay up, it will lead to double provisioning-- both PNB and 30 other banks will have to provide for the huge loss.


American Tower Corporation (ATC) has moved the Delhi High Court against Reliance Communications and its Reliance Telecom subsidiary, seeking surety over Rs 100.63 crore that ATC says the two companies owed it for services provided from July to December last year.


US consumer prices rose0.5% in January, up 2.1% from previous year, fueling expectations of a faster pace of interest rate increases from the Federal Reserve.
